What is Turkcell PhoneBook?

You can now back up the records in your cell phone phonebook in Turkcell PhoneBook. You can reach all the records both from your cell phone and from the Turkcell PhoneBook web page. If your cell phone is compatible with Turkcell PhoneBook, you can transfer your phone book records to Turkcell PhoneBook, but if you don’t have a cell phone compatible with the service, you can enter your records and save your list on the Turkcell PhoneBook web page. NOTE: By this method, you can only transfer the numbers recorded on your cell phone to Turkcell PhoneBook, not the numbers recorded in your SIM card.


How can I back up the numbers recorded on my SIM card?

You have to have a SimPlus 128 Card to back up the numbers recorded in your SIM card. You can start your subscription from TcellTlfRehberim menu from the Turkcell Menu inside the SimPlus 128 card, and you can back up only the numbers that are recorded in your SIM card. After you start this application once, every time you add or remove a number, your sim card phone book will be backed up automatically. To back up the numbers recorded in your cell phone phonebook, your cell phone must be compatible with synchronizing and you have to synchronize it from the synchronization menu.


How does Turkcell PhoneBook work?

What does transferring my cell phone phonebook records to Turkcell PhoneBook (synchronization) mean?

You have to synchronize your cell phone with Turkcell PhoneBook to store your phone book records in the Turkcell PhoneBook. Synchronization means transferring your records to the Turkcell PhoneBook.

How can I enter Turkcell PhoneBook on the web?

You can enter Turkcell PhoneBook at http://PhoneBook.turkcell.com.tr or at the Online Services Center. All you need is your SüperŞifre in order to access this service. After this point, you can begin using Turkcell PhoneBook service. If you don’t have your SüperŞifre or have forgotten it, you can enter “sifre” and send it to 2222, and get your password for free. You can enter the business card information by using “Add New Person” or “Quick Add” from Turkcell PhoneBook web page. You can securely save information of 5 phone numbers, 2 e-mail addresses, company and home addresses as well as birthday for each person.


How can I transfer my phone book to my new cell phone?

To benefit from the service, both of your cell phones must support PhoneBook.

To transfer the phone book to your new cell phone, you have to synchronize your phone book of your new cell phone with Turkcell PhoneBook.
Enter REHBER and send it to 7777. If your cell phone supports the service, the automatic settings to run Phonebook will be sent to your cell phone. Save the settings sent. After saving the settings, synchronize it from the synchronization menu on your cell phone.

Insert your sim card to your new cell phone after completing the synchronization process from your current cell phone. You have to save the settings described above to complete the synchronization. Write SENK, leave a space, write your new cell phone model and send it to 2222. For example; enter SENK 70 and send it to 2222. PhoneBook settings will be sent to your new cell phone. Remember to synchronize your new cell phone from the synchronization menu after you save the settings. After you complete this process, your phone book will be transferred to your new cell phone. All these operations are free of charge.

NOTE: The cell phones, which are announced as supporting the Turkcell PhoneBook synchronization service, completed a process of certification and a test. For cell phone models that are compatible with synchronization and using SyncML Protocol, these certification operations are done by Turkcell and then they are added to the compatible cell phone models list.


How can I correct the synchronization errors on the Turkcell PhoneBook web page?

During the synchronization process, the deleted business card information are sent to the Recycle Bin and they can be loaded back from here. Turkcell PhoneBook service deletes the content of the Recycle bin once in every 30 days. If you want to load the information back, you have to do this within 30 days, or the information deleted from Recycle Bin cannot be loaded back. If your business card information is wrong, you can correct them on the web site as well as on your cell phone, during the first synchronization process you will make.


My cell phone doesn’t support synchronization. I can’t use the service?

Don’t be disheartened if your cell phone doesn’t support the synchronization! Synchronization is a necessity to transfer your cell phone phonebook to Turkcell PhoneBook automatically. If you have a Simplus 128 card, you can store the numbers recorded in your sim card. You can activate your subscription from the TcellTlfRehberim menu under Turkcell Menu that takes place in your Simplus 128 card, and you can back up the numbers recorded only in your sim card. Once you activate this operation, every time you add or delete a contact, your sim card phonebook is backed up automatically. In order to back up the numbers recorded in your cell phone memory, you need to have a compatible cell phone and you have to synchronize your cell phone from the synchronization menu. You can also back up the records you want to store on the Turkcell PhoneBook web page if you don’t have a supporting cell phone or a Simplus 128 card.


What should I do so that I don’t lose the information on my cell phone while synchronizing?

At the end of the first successful synchronization process, all the records in your cell phone phonebook are transferred to Turkcell PhoneBook.

You have to re-synchronize after making any addition/change in your cell phone phonebook to see them in your Turkcell PhoneBook.

Likewise, if you use Turkcell PhoneBok web page to make any changes/additions, all these changes/additions will be seen in your cell phone phonebook after you complete the synchronization process on your cell phone. This means if you delete a record on the Turkcell PhoneBook web page, it will be deleted from the cell phone phonebook after the synchronization process.

In short you are advised not to delete any record from the Turkcell PhoneBook web page if you don’t want them to be deleted from you phone phonebook.


The information in the Turkcell PhoneBook is very important and private. How is the business card information stored? Can the others see my information?

The records stored in Turkcell PhoneBook are private and no one else can reach that data. Turkcell has restricted the access to the information stored within this service to private use only. Please don’t share your SüperŞifre with anybody if you don’t want anybody to reach your information.

Can I use PhoneBook synchronization service?

In case of using the same sim card on different cell phones, it’s possible to synchronize the same information if the cell phones are compatible with the synchronization service, so you can combine the different records saved on your cell phones. For example, you can combine the records both given to you by your company and the ones on your own private cell phone.

To use the synchronization service with all the phones you own, you have to synchronize each one of them. You don’t pay an extra charge in case you use more than one cell phone! Your monthly subscription fee is subject to the line you use.


What kind of information can I back up on my Turkcell PhoneBook’s web page?

You can securely save lots of detailed information including 5 phone numbers, 2 e-mail addresses, company and home addresses as well as birthday for each person on your Turkcell PhoneBook web page.


How many records can I store on my Turkcell PhoneBook's web page?

You can store 2000 records on Turkcell PhoneBook’s web page. But please remember this number includes the records in your Recycle Bin.


How is Turkcell PhoneBook priced?

Note: In case you pass your line to another subscriber, the records in your phonebook and the information on synchronization will completely be deleted. In case you shut down your line, the records in your phonebook will be stored for another 6 months. If you re-activate your line, these records will be ready for your use. I’ve made synchronization settings. How will I synchronize?

You are considered ready for synchronization after you save the settings sent by SMS or make the settings manually. When you begin the synchronization process from Turkcell PhoneBook by entering the synchronization menu on your cell phone, the business card records on your cell phone memory will be synchronized with Turkcell PhoneBook. You can get help from Turkcell PhoneBook’s web page if you want to find your cell phone’s synchronization menu.

You have to synchronize regularly through this menu to see the additions/changes you make on your cell phone phonebook on Turkcell PhoneBook or visa versa. The service subscription you have activated by synchronizing begins practically at the end of the first successful synchronization process. You can’t transfer all the records from your cell phone phonebook to Turkcell PhoneBook until the synchronization process is completed. So obtaining the synchronization settings or making the settings manually doesn’t mean that the records on your cell phone phonebook begin to be stored in Turkcell PhoneBook.


How can I regain my synchronization settings?

To regain your synchronization settings, write SENK, leave a space, write your cell phone model and send it to 2222. For example; if your cell phone is Nokia N70, enter SENK N70 and send it to 2222. PhoneBook settings will be sent to your new cell phone.


Who can benefit from Turkcell PhoneBook?

All Turkcell postpaid line and Hazır Kart subscribers can benefit from the Turkcell PhoneBook service.


What will happen to the records in my phonebook in case I pass my line to another subscriber?

In case you pass your line to another subscriber, the records in your phonebook and the information on the synchronization will be completely deleted. In case you shut down your line, the records in your phonebook will be stored for another 6 months. If you re-activate your line, these records will be ready for your use. In case you re-activate your line after six months, these records will no longer exist.


What do I have to do to prevent synchronization errors?

Some errors might occur during the synchronization process. If you receive a call or the connection is lost after you begin synchronizing, the synchronization process might stop and some of your records might have not been transferred. In such a case, you have to restart the synchronization process.
With some different cell phone models, the areas for business card information are placed differently. This placement has been made according to the areas the users use the most. So some records might not be synchronized between cell phone and Turkcell PhoneBook. These records will not be deleted. But if you purchase another cell phone, these records won’t be transferred to your new cell phone although you synchronize your new cell phone with your Turkcell PhoneBook.
Remember that the records to be transferred are the latest changes you have made. If you delete a contact on your cell phone and then synchronize it with the web site, this contact will be deleted both from the web site and from the other devices you will synchronize.


What does synchronization do?

You can simultaneously update your cell phone phonebook and Turkcell PhoneBook with synchronization process. This means when you add or update a record on Turkcell PhoneBook/cell phone phonebook, it will be seen on cell phone phonebook/Turkcell PhoneBook after the synchronization. If you add/delete/change a record, you match your cell phone phonebook with your Turkcell PhoneBook with the synchronization. When you synchronize your cell phone phonebook with your Turkcell PhoneBook, only the records on the cell phone’s memory are transferred to the Turkcell Phonebook. If you want to transfer the records from your sim card to your Turkcell PhoneBook, first you have to transfer the records on your sim card to the cell phone’s memory, and then synchronize the cell phone with Turkcell PhoneBook. You can consult your cell phone’s User’s Guide or you can get help from the manufacturer for information on transferring sim card records to cell phone’s memory. If your sim card is SimPlus 128, you can activate your subscription from TcellTlfRehberim menu under the Turkcell Menu, and then you can back up only the records that exist in your sim card. Once you activate this operation, every time you add or delete a record, your sim card phonebook is backed up automatically. To back up the records in your phone’s memory, your cell phone must be compatible and you have to synchronize it from the synchronization menu.
You can also create your own contact list by entering the records you’d like to store or you can make changes (add/delete) on the records you back up from your cell phone on your Turkcell PhoneBook web page. If you delete a record on Turkcell PhoneBook web page, it will be deleted from the cell phone phonebook after the synchronization process. So while deleting a record on Turkcell PhoneBook web page, remember that it will be deleted from your cell phone’s phonebook as well, after the synchronization process has taken place.
